Terms of use

By using BizGapMap you accept the limits below. They exist because the underlying data is published for statistical use, not for underwriting a specific lease.

What this site is

A free tool that aggregates public U.S. Census and BLS statistics into density comparisons by ZIP code. It is provided for general information and research.

Not business, legal, or financial advice

Nothing here is a recommendation to open, close, buy, or avoid a business, and nothing is a forecast of revenue, profit, or survival. A low-density ZIP is a question to investigate, not an opportunity. Verify anything important with the primary sources listed on Data sources and with local knowledge.

No warranty

The site and its data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Source agencies revise and suppress data; we may lag those revisions or contain errors of aggregation. Use at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BizGapMap and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or business losses, arising from use of the site or reliance on its numbers.

Public data and attribution

Census, BLS, and IRS data are public domain or used under their published terms. Map data are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License; base tiles are served by OpenFreeMap under the OpenMapTiles schema; satellite imagery is courtesy of USGS. BizGapMap is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these agencies.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others, or present its output as official government statistics. Linking to pages is welcome.

BizGapMap — free, no-login small-business saturation reports for major U.S. counties. Built entirely from public U.S. Census, BLS, and IRS data (ZBP 2023, ACS 2024 5-year, PEP 2024, LODES, QCEW, IRS SOI). No forecasts, no revenue guesses — withheld cells are marked, and the few derived counts are labelled as estimates.
